• Can you see examples of previous weddings held here? It’s always a great idea to visualize what your day could look like.
• What is the lighting and wind situation like? This can help with your hair styling and what to expect for photos.

So, if you’re wondering when should you schedule a site visit, it will depend on two things:

• If you haven’t narrowed down your venue yet and you want to check out one (or a few) before you decide, or
• After you’ve picked out your venue and want to go visit to finalize your details, go for a tasting, meet vendors, etc.

Imagine getting a sneak peek at your dream destination wedding venue and saving a penny while you’re at it. Sounds too good to be true?

Some resorts roll out the red carpet for couples planning a site visit for destination weddings. They offer special packages or even credits just for considering them for your big day. It’s like they’re paying you to visit – how cool is that?

For example, Hyatt offers a Big Day Preview, which is a two-day all-inclusive package for couples for $600. If you book your wedding with them, they will credit your wedding package $600! Palace Resorts offer a similar package called the Preview of Paradise, where your stay is credited towards your wedding package.

You have to factor in your flights and transfers into this too, but it’s still a great way to check out your resort and venue options ahead of time!

There are also a ton of Facebook planning groups that can end up being a goldmine. There’s something about connecting with couples who’ve gone through some of the things you’re worried about; their insights and experiences are invaluable.

Plus, don’t underestimate the power of online reviews. They can often unveil aspects that you hadn’t even considered. 

Remember, thorough online research is your best friend here, making the absence of a physical visit feel like less of a loss and more of a different approach to making informed decisions!
